AURIZON
Laboratory: VETOQUINOL EVSA
Pharmaceutical form:: Drops (Got.)
Composition:
Marbofloxacin 3mg; clotrimazole 10mg; dexamethasone (as acetate) 0,9 mg; dexamethasone acetate 1mg, propyl gallate 1mg; excipient csp 1 ml.
Interactions and incompatibilities:: They don't know each other.
Indications and target species:
Dogs: Treatment of external otitis, of bacterial origin (by germs sensitive to marbofloxacin) and fungal (Malassezia pachydermatis sensitive to clotrimazole).
. The product must be used based on susceptibility testing.
Contraindications:
. Do not administer to dogs affected by perforation of the tympanic membrane.
. Do not administer in case of known hypersensitivity to any of the components.
. Do not administer to pregnant or lactating bitches.
Side effects:
. The typical side effects of corticosteroids can be observed (alteration of biochemical and hematological parameters such as increased values of alkaline phosphatase and/or transaminases, and some limited neutrophilia).
. Prolonged and intensive use of topical corticosteroid preparations is known to induce local and systemic effects, including suppression of adrenal function, decreased epidermal thickness, and delayed healing.
. Occasionally the use of this product may be associated with deafness, primarily in older dogs and generally of a transient nature.
Route of administration: Otic.
Posology:
Dogs: Administer 10 drops in the ear once a day for 7 to 14 days.
After 7 days of treatment, the veterinarian should assess the need to extend the duration of treatment for another week.
One drop of the specialty contains 71 mg of marbofloxacin, 237 mg of clotrimazole and 23,7 mg of dexamethasone acetate.
. After application, the base of the ear should be gently and briefly massaged to allow the preparation to penetrate into the lowest part of the ear canal.
. Shake well before use.
. When the product is to be used on more than one dog, use one cannula per animal.
Overdose: From three times the recommended dose, changes in hematological and biochemical parameters are observed (such as increased alkaline phosphatase, transaminases, some limited neutrophilia, eosinopenia, lymphopenia); These changes are not serious and will revert upon discontinuation of treatment.
Special precautions:
. A strong dependence on a single class of antibiotic can result in the emergence of resistance in the bacterial population. It is considered prudent to reserve fluoroquinolones for the treatment of cases that have responded or are expected to respond unsatisfactorily to other classes of antibiotics.
. Before administering the product, the integrity of the tympanic membrane should be checked.
. The external auditory canal must have been thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to treatment.
. Wash hands carefully after administration. Avoid contact with eyes.
In case of contact with the eyes, they should be washed abundantly with water.
. People with known hypersensitivity to some of the components of the preparation should avoid contact with it.
. Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay: See contraindications.
