DURALACTIN

Lysine Nutritional supplement based on L lysine, MicroLactin® and Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids.
Recommended to reduce the severity of clinical symptoms in cats and kittens infected with herpes virus (FHV 1) and minimize their contagion capacity.

Feline herpes virus (FHV 1)
Infectious disease experts estimate that at least 80% of cats are infected by the feline herpes virus throughout their lives. After the initial infection, the virus settles down and eventually, often in stressful situations, it reactivates, producing respiratory and/or ocular pathology. Cats infected with FHV 1 are therefore chronically ill and permanent carriers of the infection. Typical symptoms include nasal discharge, sneezing, conjunctivitis, keratitis, chemosis, ulcers on the nose, lips, tongue, and gums; and at a general level, fever, lethargy and loss of appetite.

Lysine is an amino acid that, among other properties, has a competitive action with arginine, another amino acid that is essential for FHV 1 replication. By blocking arginine, L-lysine inhibits the multiplication capacity of the virus.
Recent clinical studies demonstrate the efficacy of oral lysine in reducing both viral clearance1 and the clinical symptoms associated with the virus2.
MicroLactin®

It is a low molecular weight protein obtained from the milk of hyperimmunized cows. Several published studies3,4,5,6 demonstrate the efficacy of MicroLactin® in arthritis and other inflammatory pathologies. Unlike corticosteroids and NSAIDs,
MicroLactin® does not have cycle oxygenase (COX) inhibitory activity, but rather acts by suppressing the migration of neutrophils to the injured tissue7. Other studies8 have proven that MicroLactin® lacks acute or chronic toxicity
Omega 3 and 6
Duralactin also provides essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6 that contribute to reinforce the effectiveness of the product due to its action to support the immune system and its dermatological action. In addition, fatty acids play an important role in joint and digestive health.

L lysine 250mg
MicroLactin® 200mg
Omega 6 mg
Omega 3 mg

Dosage
Adult cats: 2,5 to 5 ml twice a day
Kittens: 1,25 to 2,5 ml twice a day
The duration of the treatment will be determined by the veterinarian based on the severity of the symptoms, usually
recommends a treatment of 2 to 3 weeks.
Duralactin can be administered directly into the mouth or added to food.
