Indications and target species:
Cats: Treatment of infestation by fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations by adult fleas persists for four weeks. Newly arrived fleas are killed within 48 hours of landing on the animal. The drug can be used as part of a treatment strategy for allergic dermatitis caused by flea bites (DAPP), when it has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. The drug has an acaricidal efficacy that persists for up to a week against ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Dermacentor reticulatus). If Dermacentor reticulatus ticks are present when the drug is applied, all ticks may not be killed in the first 48 hours, but will be killed within a week.
Dogs: Treatment of infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and chewing/sucking lice (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.
Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations by adult fleas persists for eight weeks. Newly arrived fleas are killed within 48 hours of landing on the animal. The drug can be used as part of an allergic dermatitis treatment strategy.
