Composition: per tablet:
Meloxicam 1 mg.
Meloxicam 2,5 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam group that acts
inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins.
Interactions and incompatibilities:
• Other NSAIDs, diuretics, anticoagulants, aminoglycoside antibiotics and substances with high
affinity proteins can compete for binding and produce toxic effects. Do not administer together
with other NSAIDs or glucocorticosteroids.
• In pre-treatment with anti-inflammatory substances, a free period of at least
24 hours.
Indications and target species:
Dogs: Relief of inflammation and pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
Contraindications:
• Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
• Do not administer to dogs with gastrointestinal disorders such as irritation and bleeding, impaired
liver, heart or kidney function and bleeding disorders.
• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
• Do not administer to dogs less than 6 weeks old or weighing less than 4 kg.
Side effects:
• Infrequently: Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, fecal occult blood, lethargy and
renal insufficiency.
• In very rare cases: hemorrhagic diarrhea, hematemesis, gastrointestinal ulceration and enzymes.

Route of administration:
Orally.
Posology:
Initial treatment is a single dose of 0,2 mg meloxicam/kg body weight on the first day.
• Maintenance dose: 0,1 mg of meloxicam/kg of weight per day at 24-hour intervals.
• Each chewable tablet contains 1 mg or 2,5 mg meloxicam which corresponds to the dose of
daily maintenance for a dog weighing 10 kg or for a dog weighing 25 kg
respectively.
Special precautions:
Avoid its use in dehydrated, hypovolemic or hypotensive animals due to potential risk of
kidney toxicity.
