Composition per g:
Amoxicillin (trihydrate) 50 mg stabilized.
Pharmacological properties
Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic penicillin susceptible to the action of penicillinase.
Pharmacodynamic characteristics: Bactericidal antibacterial that acts by preventing the synthesis of
bacterial wall, broad spectrum, active against Streptococcus suis types I and II.
Pharmacokinetic characteristics: In the piglet, the bioavailability after administration but os is from
47%, reaching the serum maximum in 1,5-2 hours. It distributes well and quickly throughout the
organism. Its metabolization is poor, being eliminated mainly through urine and, to a lesser extent,
proportion by milk and bile.
Interactions and incompatibilities
Do not use simultaneously with neomycin or antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis
bacterial.
Indications and target species
Piglets: Control of streptococcal infections after weaning. Reduced mortality and
morbidity due to Streptococcus suis.
Contraindications
• Do not administer to animals with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins.
• Do not administer orally to rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters or to animals with a functional rumen.
• Do not administer to equines.
efectos secundarios
• Sensitization reactions whose severity can vary from a simple urticaria to a
anaphylactic shock.
• Supra-infections by non-susceptible germs after prolonged use.
• Occasionally it can produce hematic dyscrasias and colitis.
Route of administration
Oral, mixed with feed.
Posology
Piglets:
Pre-starter: 400 ppm (8 kg/t).
Starter: 300 ppm (6 kg/t).
• The duration of the treatment will be two weeks.
• The premix remains stable in the feed for 6 months.
• The temperature, pressure and humidity conditions to which the premix can be subjected to
granulation are the usual ones (temperature up to 80 °C, 16% humidity, 10 bar pressure).
Special precautions
Avoid direct contact with the product due to the risk of allergic reactions for the person
to manipulate it

Meat: 3 days.
