CYCLAVANCE 50ML | FOR ATOPIC DERMATITIS IN DOGS
• Compounds from the azole group (eg ketoconazole) increase the concentration of cyclorporine in the blood. Ketoconazole at 5-10 mg/kg increases the concentration of cyclosporine in the blood up to 5 times. Macrolides such as erythromycin can double the plasma levels of cyclosporine. Certain inducers such as cytochrome P450, epilepsy treatments, and antibiotics (eg, trimethoprim/sulfonamide) may reduce the plasma concentration of ciclosporin. Simultaneous administration with P-glycoprotein substrates (such as macrocyclic lactones: ivermectin and milbemycin) could reduce the outflow of these active substances, giving signs of CNS toxicity.
• Cyclosporine can increase the nephrotoxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics and trimethoprim, so its concomitant use is not recommended.
