Pharmaceutical form:
Ophthalmic solution (Sol.of.)
Composition: per ml:
Gentamicin (sulfate) 3.000 IU; trometamol 6mg; EDTA 5mg; methylcellulose 10mg; sodium disulfite 1,5 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Gentamicin is a bactericidal antibacterial from the aminoglycoside family, which acts on bacterial growth by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It is active against Gram ( ) and Gram ( ) bacteria, particularly against Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus.
Indications and target species:
Dogs and Cats: Bacterial conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis.
Contraindications:
Do not administer to animals with a history of hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides or sodium disulfite.
Route of administration:
Instill the solution into the conjunctival sac, using the dosing device.
Posology:
Dogs and Cats: 2 drops 3 times a day, for 8 days.
Special precautions:
Wash hands after using the product.
